Protecting and securing your organization's valuable assets, employees and guests is our priority. Our experience, training, customer service and philosophy of prevention are designed to provide maximum protection and value. In an industry where success is defined by what did not happen, we deter potential threats and reduce your risk. So you don't have to worry.

 Our Philosophy

While protection in some cases means our security personnel have to take appropriate action--including the ability of many of our staff to make an arrest in extreme circumstances--we believe the best protection comes through prevention. This philosophy provides the foundation for training that all our employees receive.

Monterrey Security carries this philosophy of prevention into the training of all officers. Our off-duty police officers are trained to understand local crime patterns and to watch for suspicious activity-preventing crimes before they occur. This means assessing potential crime situations and responding in a non-threatening manner to diffuse, rather than escalate, a situation. Our civilian officers are also trained in law enforcement techniques for spotting and preventing potential crime. At Monterrey Security, our emphasis on prevention is also applied to site set-up and officer supervision. While other companies' officers sit passively at a desk, we take away the desk and install a podium-meaning our officers stand at their post attentive to their surroundings; or they move around to monitor all the areas in their charge. We also offer electronic proximity reader systems, providing precise, accurate and detailed tracking of when and where officers are present.

Customer Service

Monterrey Security delivers unparalleled service to all its partners. Each contract is managed as if it was our only contract, and every client has its own management, operational and administrative resources available. All clients large and small have access to senior company leaders as well as project managers. From our officers to the company founder, we are all easily accessible and responsive to client needs.

Training

State-certified training is just the beginning of the training all Monterrey Security employees receive. Our customized training program surpasses the State's minimum training requirements with the addition of: methods of securing buildings, project sites and vehicles; identifying potential threats; crime prevention techniques; rules and regulations for security officers; and appropriate state and municipal laws. We also offer clients the option of site-specific training for all officers before they are cleared to work a client's site.

Personnel

Because Monterrey Security uses only trained law enforcement officers for armed security services, every armed officer Monterrey deploys is guaranteed to be an active law enforcement officer with a minimum of 600 hours of police and firearms training, including annual re-qualification in the use of deadly force.

In contrast, other security companies offer only the State of Illinois required minimum 20 hours of classroom training. And they use civilians with as little as a one-time, 40-hour training course in the use of firearms as armed guards. At Monterrey Security, if our employees don't carry a badge, they don't carry a gun.

In addition, individual staff hold certifications in occupational safety and health, construction safety, hazardous materials handling, crowd control management and evacuation planning.

Technology

To offer the best service, Monterrey Security uses web-based software to manage all our security services and business operations. From employee identification to scheduling, our software conveniently automates all staffing, including attendance and performance tracking.

Tablet and smart-phone applications allow for fast and efficient incident reporting, as well as continuous communications between command and security personnel.

Our system also integrates human resources and billing functions for cost-effective and seamless back-office operations.

Community Outreach

At Monterrey Security, we believe in giving back to our community by supporting schools and charities that create opportunities for youth, disadvantaged children, and health and wellness programs for women and families.

Among the programs we support:

Gads Hill Center:  Serving families in the Chicago neighborhoods of Pilsen, North Lawndale, Little Village, and Back of the Yards with programming that provides learning support and educational enrichment, early childhood development, and out-of-school care for children.

American Cancer Society Relay For Life: A life-changing event that gives everyone in communities across the globe a chance to celebrate the lives of people who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost, and fight back against the disease.

Cristo Rey Jesuit High School's Corporate Internship Program: In order to make private, college-preparatory education affordable to at-risk young people from Pilsen, Cristo Rey developed an innovative work-study program for high school students. The Corporate Internship Program (CIP) gives students the means of financing their education. By working five full days each month in entry-level positions at corporations in Chicago, they can earn 65% of the cost of their education.

March 2010 - Monterrey Security sponsors students from Benito Juarez High School in the Pilsen Neighborhood on a recent trip to Washington D.C.

Each year, Monterrey Security donates hundreds of coats to Catholic Charities, which go to those families in need during the cold months.
